We had a super busy and fun weekend!
Cooper spent a few days at my parents house (Thursday and Friday night), so Kirk and I had a few date nights!
Saturday morning Kirk had hist first car show! He got his bike all shiny and clean, ready to display.
Saturday morning while Kirk was at the car show, Cooper and we went to the Fire Truck parade and show. We had such a great time! We saw so many things, and even went for a ride on a fire truck.
Fire rescue obstacle course.
Watching the Jaws of Life demonstration.
Running around in the fire hoses.
At the end, I asked him to pose for a picture and show me how much fun he had!
After the fire truck event, we went to go visit daddy at the car show.
Giant Otter Pop!
Kirk won first place in his category, and Cooper got to pick up the trophy. He was so excited!
Saturday night we went to a friend’s house for a birthday party. Cooper got to feed their horses, and spent about 2 hours jumping on the trampoline.
Friday morning Cooper and I let daddy sleep in and went to go pick up pastries from the French bakery for breakfast. Then we opened presents. In the afternoon, we went to my parent’s house to have steaks and celebrate with them.
This weekend we went to KidsFest – just a fun little local festival. It’s mostly different booths of vendors that set up games for kids, and then some activities, like bounce houses and climing walls. It wasn’t too crowded (probably thanks to Parker Days that was packed!).
Cooper had fun climbing on the climbing wall, but was a bit too scared to go to the top.
He loved this bungee trampoline.
Sunday we went to my parent’s house for our usual Sunday dinner. We made water balloons.
Says: There was one day this week Cooper woke up super early, and I asked him why he was up so early. He said “I was going to sleep in, but then I woke up and forgot.”
It has really been feeling like summer! We have been spending tons of time outside. Summer is by far my favorite season, and I think it’s Cooper’s favorite as well. He likes it hot and loves spending time outside.
Cooper and his friends got lucky when the ice cream truck drove by! They were all so excited to get a treat.
Cooper wanted to have a race with daddy!
We have had a busy few weeks around here!
Cooper has been growing some triops that he got in a kit for Christmas. They didn’t live long (maybe a week), but it was fun to see them grow!
We went out to dinner and enjoyed the outdoor games they had while we waited. Turns out the food wasn’t worth the wait, but that’s ok.
Cooper had a birthday party to go to. We got there a little early, so he spent some time doing different balancing acts in the car.
He had a ton of fun at the party, and even got to go on the zip line.
We have been going to the park after work again since it’s been warmer.
Cooper got a new bike and has been riding it a little bit. He has never really wanted a bike, even though all his neighborhood friends ride bikes around.
We also had our first neighborhood block party of the year, complete with bounce house and fire pit. All the kids in the street had so much fun!
The other day Cooper wanted some bath colors, and I gave him three big and two little tablets to put in. I said he probably didn’t need anymore, but asked him how many three plus two was, and he said “enough.”
We have also been enjoying our new flame table!
We had such nice weather over the weekend (in the 80’s). We played outside on Saturday and had a picnic.
After our picnic, he went inside and I found him in his playroom like this. I asked him what he was doing and he said “My carpet ate me!”
Kirk came home on Saturday after a really hectic work trip. We sat outside and enjoyed our new fire table.
We celebrated Mother’s Day on Sunday. Kirk and Cooper got me cards and presents. Cooper made me a nice flower picture at preschool. We went to brunch at our favorite breakfast restaurant. Afterwards, we came home and took naps.
Then we went to my parent’s house to celebrate with babcia. Cooper painted her a nice picture.
Says: Cooper said “I don’t want to be a boy anymore because it’s too super hard work being so strong.”
Cooper was talking about opening some Kinder Surprise eggs with babcia and he said “I’m going to share a bit of chocolate with her.” I told him that was really nice and he said “Well that’s what friends do – share!”
Milestones: Cooper’s last day of Preschool was this week! I can’t believe how quickly the year flew by. They had a luau party at school. His teachers made little photo albums for all the kids with all the stuff they did this year.
And the pictures from the first day of school for comparison!
Every once in a while Cooper will look at clouds and say “wow look at that cloud in the sky – it looks like…..” He saw this one and said it looked like a shark!
After a really nice weather weekend, we had some snow yesterday! Ugh.
We just got back from a lovely week in Mexico!
Cooper had a ton of fun playing on the beach, swimming in the ocean, swimming and jumping in the pool, making a ton of friends, and going to all the shows! He is such a great traveler! At the end of the flight on the way home, the lady sitting in front of us made a point to tell us how well Cooper behaved on the plane. I’ll take that compliment!
Says: At night time, when you say good night, he says “I love you to the moon and planets and universities and back.”
I forget what it was, but something happened right at bed time and I told Cooper we couldn’t look at it right then. He said “Ok, I will investigate it in the morning.”
We are going on vacation next week and Cooper is so excited! Every morning he comes into our room and tells us the number of days until vacation. It’s pretty crazy to me that he remembers how many days every morning without me tell him. He’s been doing it for about 20 days!
This week Cooper decided he didn’t like Kirk’s beard and told him “to get rid of his whiskers.” And then he pet his own chin and said “You should be smooth like me daddy.”
We got a huge spring snowstorm (somewhere between 8-12″ fell). It was crazy! We had fun playing in the snow. Thankfully, 2 days later it’s almost all melted. I guess that’s the good thing about spring snow – it melts really quickly!
We also got our new patio furniture delivered (right before the snow started of course!). The neighborhood kids all wanted to helped move it in the backyard on Sunday. You can really tell how much snow melted in just one day – this was less than 24 hours after the snow stopped.
I bought a sunglasses case (so I would stop scratching and ruining my sunglasses). As soon as he got in my car after school he noticed it (don’t try to sneak anything by this kid – he notices anything and everything that’s different!) he asked if he could see it. He opened it and said “It smells nice in here. It smells like girls. Wearing nice dresses.”
When he was watching Monsters Inc., he thought Inc. was ink. He said “you can’t drink ink. It’s bad for you. You might turn into a printer. A walking printer.”
To celebrate Earth Day, Cooper’s preschool class made robots out of recycled material. Cooper was really excited to do this project! This is what we came up with. It was fun to see all the different robots his friends made.
The past couple weeks at school, Cooper has been learning about health and safety. He came home asking about fires and tornadoes and asteroids (!!!) and where we should hide if a tornado comes.
Baking Easter cookies with babcia.
Getting ready for our vacation – Cooper packing my toiletries. Too bad we still have a couple weeks before we leave! He also packed 4 bags (with pajamas, books, stuffed animals) and left them outside his door for a couple days – just in case we needed to leave early.
Ah, his silly smile.
And this is his face when I told him to not smile and look normal. LOL
Just some quick photos for the week.
Cooper is 100% boy. He loves playing in dirt and will get so messy!
He also loves helping out – especially helping daddy in the yard.
And he loves his trains! He helps me build the track and then will just take the trains around and around and around the track!
