This weekend Cooper turned 4. How did that happen? Just yesterday we brought him home from the hospital, and today he is an awesome 4-year old boy.
He loves books, cartoons (Curious George and Peppa Pig are his favorites), forts, running and jumping and climbing on anything, anything construction related, volcanoes, his stuffed animals (elephant is his favorite), making messes and playing trash truck, and making up silly rhyming words. He can count to 20 by himself, and 100 with some help. He can write his name. He is such a happy and friendly little boy. He is (usually) really polite and is great about saying please and thank you. He includes everyone and always wants to play with everyone. He is a good sharer. He is such a fantastic kid.
Cooper on his birthday.
Cooper has been requesting a volcano cake for about 6 months. I called around to see if someone would make it (I’m not too confident in my cake making skills), but either they wouldn’t make shaped cakes or it was way too expensive. So we decided to make it ourselves! Kirk baked the cake (I was ready to give up but he persevered!). Cooper and I decorated it. I think it turned out amazing!
On Sunday night, we had his neighborhood friends over for a party. When I asked Cooper what he wanted to do for his birthday he said “I want all my friends from the cul-du-sac to come over for a party. The kids will play in the basement and the grown-ups can be upstairs.” Already trying to take over the basement 😉
Waiting for his friends to come
On Monday night (his actual birthday) we had a family dinner to eat the rest of the cake and open presents.
