This weekend Kirk went to visit family in Canada, so Cooper and I had the long weekend together. We went to lots of parks and played outside a lot. Except for the skipping naps all 3 days, we had a fun time.
Does: We did experiments in the bath about making colors from red, yellow and blue. He was so excited and wanted to make all sorts of colors!
Says: Just a little background – Cooper loves dogs and he would pet every dog if he could. But not all dogs want to be petted, so he knows to ask the owner if the dog is friendly and if he can pet it. So we were talking about how there was a new librarian at storytime and I asked him if he liked her and if she was friendly. Cooper said “She is not a dog. She is a girl mommy.”
This weekend was nice and we were playing outside with the water table and hose. He sprayed me once with the hose on purpose and I got mad and said he’s not allowed to spray people unless they ask you to spray them. Then a few days later, we were playing outside again and he said “Mommy do you want me to spray you? You look dirty.”
Still continuing with his obsession with poop and toilets, one day while we we were driving out of the blue he said “If you flush me down the toilet I will be gone forever. I will be sad. And there is no way to get out so I’ll be stuck.”
My parents were helping us in the basement one day and Cooper and I went to the park to stay out of their way. Cooper asked my mom “babcia, will you stay and protect my house and make sure no one comes in.” When she said yes he said “oh, thank you.”
We went to Ikea one night to get a few things, and Cooper had fun playing with the toys and beds. He took a bunch of stuffed animals and put them in one of the beds. I was actually impressed when it was time to go, Cooper put away all the stuffed animals away without me having to ask. And then he went up to one of the employees at Ikea and said “Working girl – we cleaned up our mess.”
