For the past 6 or so months (house projects take so much longer when there is a toddler running around and you have to work around naps!) we have been remodeling the laundry room and Cooper’s bathroom.
It all started with wanting to build a pedestal for the washer and dryer to raise them up. Then we decided to replace the linoleum floors while we were at it. And since we were doing that, why not replace the counters and sinks and add some tile back splash too? Kirk and my dad did most of the work, but I helped where I could.
The laundry room, before. This was taken while the house was still under construction.
And this was after we got our new washer and dryer right after Cooper was born.
In progress of the floors being placed. We went with a wood grain porcelain tile. I love the look of it!
For the counters, we went with slab granite. We also got a great stainless steel sink and glass tile back splash.
And here is the pedestal that Kirk and my dad built. They used trim pieces that matched the cabinets for a more built in look. It turned out wonderfully!!
And the full room.
Now onto Cooper’s bathroom. Here is the before. It had the same floor and counter that the laundry room had.
Here is a picture after we installed the floors.
For this room, we went with the same granite counters that we installed in the laundry room. But we did pick a different tile back splash. It’s slate tile that closely matches the wood grain tile on the floor. We also took down the big mirror and replaced it with two smaller mirrors. We did vessel sinks and new faucets. It turned out great!!
