I couldn’t decide on a favorite out of these – so I’m including them all 🙂
Stats: His official stats from the pediatrician’s appointment:
- Weight: 24 lbs. 14 oz. (55th percentile)
- Height: 34.5 inches (95th percentile) – jumped from the 75th to the 95th – no wonder all of his clothes are too short!
- Head Size: 47.4 cm (50th percentile)
Health: He had a little bit of a runny nose at the end of last week, but it’s cleared up now. The doctor said he is in perfect health! He is getting his canine teeth in (the top two have poked through and the bottom two are so close), so I’m sure that’s not the best feeling in the world.
Sleeps: Another great week! He goes down pretty easily (once he tries to get us to read every book on his shelf) and sleeps wonderfully at night. He usually wakes up between 7-7:30, except for yesterday when he woke up bright and early at 6am.
Eats: Most days he’s such a wonderful eater! He doesn’t really like to sit down for too long (doesn’t matter what he’s doing – he wants to be up and running). So sometimes meals are “on the go” and he will eat a few bites and go play some more. He loves bread and butter (and toast) and yogurt (he really likes it when I freeze it – lemonade flavor is his favorite).
Says: New words this week include “elbow” and “nose.” He says a few names “Michelle” (the lady at storytime at the library) and “Emme” (his friend at day care), but won’t say his own name. He also says “toast” and “fish.” He also learned “no” and says it whenever he gets the chance.
Does: Cooper wouldn’t be a toddler if he didn’t throw some tantrums. He’s been testing his boundaries and can sometimes be quite dramatic. His favorite word this week is “no” and everything is “no.” But despite that, he really is a sweet boy and loves to give kisses and hugs and play with his stuffed animals (or destroy blocks). He loves playing hide and seek (his favorite spot to hide is behind the curtains or in his closet). He loves dancing and spinning in circles.
He is beginning to get very particular about his clothes. Yesterday when I was going to put on his shoes, he didn’t want to put on his favorite sandals and was very insistent on putting on some of his (too small) shoes from the winter. He tries to put on his own shoes, but hasn’t quite mastered it.
Likes and Dislikes: Loves Elmo. LOVES him. We got him an Elmo stuffed animal at the grocery store and he loves carrying him around. He can say Elmo and will ask for him. We even took Elmo to Cooper’s doctor’s appointment this week. Cooper hated his appointment at 15 months so I did a few things to try and help him not be as scared this time around. I bought him a pretend doctor’s kit – with stethoscope and all sorts of other things. We played with this at home for a week or so before his appointment. And then we brought it all to the appointment so he could pay with it there. And then we brought Elmo to the appointment. Whatever the doctor did to Cooper, she did to Elmo first. And there was no complaining from Cooper. It was great!
He is still in love with lawn mowers and will get so excited when he hears one.
Social and Activity: He is really enjoying day care and his day care lady says he does great. She says he is her best eater, and that he loves playing with the other kids and it just great all around 🙂
