Last week we went to Mexico. It was Cooper’s first trip out of the country. We stayed at Catalonia Playa Maroma. It was wonderful! The beach was absolutely beautiful. The sand was so soft, the water was so blue, and there were no rocks in the ocean so it was perfect for Cooper. We couldn’t keep him out of the ocean. He loved jumping in the waves and kept wanting Kirk to take him in farther. As soon as he would see the ocean, he just went directly for it. There was no stopping him.
My parents joined us for the trip. It was great to be able to spend the week all together. And they gave me and Kirk the chance to go to dinner by ourselves every night after Cooper went to sleep!
Cooper did great on the plane ride down, and even did great with the heat. The plane ride back was hard though; he just wanted to be us and moving around the whole time.
I apologize in advance (or maybe you like it) because this post will have LOTS of pictures.
Cooper was excited to play at the airport!
Maroma beach is gorgeous.
The grounds of the hotel are beautiful as well.
Cooper loved playing in the ocean and in the sand.
It wasn’t just Cooper who liked playing in the ocean – Kirk loved it too!
He didn’t like the pool as much as the ocean, but it was still a nice way to cool down.
Cooper loved playing chess.
And of course he loved being naked.
And playing soccer.
There was also a great kids club for Cooper to play in. He was too young to leave there by himself, but he still enjoyed playing with all the toys!
Cooper also loved all the animals, of course. He loves animals.
We did take a picture with the parrots. People come around with animals and take a professional photo for you, and you can buy the actual photo later. You aren’t allowed to take pictures with your own camera, but my parents snuck this one in. The actual picture was way to expensive to buy. $30 for one picture – no thank you!
Here are some great family photos.
Superman and Supermancito
The weather on our trip was absolutely perfect! It was raining the day we arrived, so we were a little worried. The next morning the sun came out, and with the exception of a quick rain shower one afternoon, the sun didn’t leave.
While it was raining, we went back to our room and Cooper thought he would cool down with a beer.
Most evenings, my parents went to dinner and Kirk and I took Cooper to the buffet so he could eat. Then we would put Cooper down, and my parents would stay with him while Kirk and I went to eat. There was no shortage of good food!
It was a great week and we were sad to go. But I’m sure we will be back very soon!
And this is what was waiting for us at home when we arrived.
