On Friday Kirk and I took the day off work and spent the whole day together – Cooper free!! He was spending a fun day at babcia and dziadek’s house. It was really nice to spend the day just the two of us – something we haven’t had a chance to do since before Cooper was born.
We started out the day by going skiing. The snow was fantastic!!! The ski resort has gotten 4 feet of snow this month – and they had about 6 inches of fresh powder for us to ski on. It was great!! In the morning we had a few hours of blue skies, and then the snow rolled in. By the time the snow started up again, our legs were tired from skiing through the powder. So we left and went to our next stop.
After skiing, we went to the Ice Castle. This year the ice castle was built in Breckinridge. My dad and I had gone a few years ago. Last time I went it was a blue sky Colorado day. This time it was snowy and overcast – so it was a totally different feel to it. It was still amazing. One year, I would love to be able to go back at night when it’s all lit up. I forgot to bring my good camera – so all the pictures are just from my iPhone.
After, we of course had to pick up some coffee/hot chocolate for our drive home.
We also stopped and got some pizza at Beau Jo’s. Other than the traffic, it was a perfect Valentine’s Day date!
