I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas. We had so much fun celebrating Cooper’s first Christmas.
We celebrated Christmas Eve at babcia and dziadek’s house. We had the traditional Polish Wigilia dinner – 12 meatless dishes. In addition to all the traditional Polish foods, we have been making chowder (full of lobster that Kirk’s parents brought down last time they visited) since that is Kirk’s Christmas Eve tradition.
Cooper especially liked pierogi and compote (a drink kind of like apple cider with lots of dried fruits).
Cooper taking some opłatek to share.
After dinner, we opened a few presents. I was actually surprised how disinterested Cooper was in ripping the paper off presents. I figured he would be more excited to rip the paper since he always tries to rip any other paper he gets his hands on. At least he did like playing with the actual presents!
Christmas morning the three of us just hung around our house and opened the presents from Santa. Cooper got a fancy new wagon that he already has been enjoying!
“Opening presents is hard work – I need to lay down and do it.”
In the evening – we went to my parents house again for a big family dinner (25 people). I think Cooper was a little overwhelmed with all the people and took a little while to warm up to everyone.
More walking with the walker.
