Weight: 19 lbs 5 oz.
Clothes: Mostly 12 month clothes
Here Cooper is modeling the Broncos jersey I picked up a few weeks ago at a garage sale.
Health: Poor guy had a REALLY rough week this week. He’s started to have a runny nose on Wednesday. Then on Friday we went to the doctor’s office to get his iron levels checked. There was no change in the iron levels, so they wanted to run some additional lab tests. So they took some samples of his blood. Poor guy screamed and screamed and screamed while they were taking his blood. All my mom and I could do was hold him so tight and try to reassure him, but it was so hard on all of us. He also got his first flu shot while we were there (at his age they break up the flu shots in two doses).
Then on Saturday afternoon he woke up from his afternoon nap in a bad mood. I went to go get him and carried him into our room, and he threw up all over himself, the floor, and me. Poor little guy. Kirk gave him a quick bath while I cleaned up myself quickly, but Cooper still wouldn’t calm down. I fed him again and he calmed down right away, but threw up again a few minutes later. He threw up a 5 times that afternoon 😦 I don’t know what caused it (maybe it was a result of his flu shot – he did throw up after his last round of vaccines too, or maybe it was the new food – yogurt – that he ate at lunch). Whatever it was – it quickly passed and a few hours later he was back to his happy self.
He still has the stuff nose though.
Sleep: Still mostly the same (getting up a couple of times a night) – but the past 2 nights he has only gotten up once. I think we might have to do a little sleep training soon though.
Crying: It was a rough week for Cooper. Between being sick and some possible teeth coming out – he hasn’t always been in the greatest mood.
Social and Activity: We went on a hike this weekend with babcia and dziadek. Kirk has a bad cold/bronchial infection so he stayed at home. We were able to try out the hiking backpack I picked up at a garage sale a few weeks ago. I think Cooper really liked being high up. I need to figure out a way to keep the sun out of his eyes more though – the visor on the backpack doesn’t offer too much protection.
We had to stop halfway through to refuel with some beers. Like always – Cooper just wanted to get ahold of the bottles.
By the end of the hike Cooper was so tired and fell asleep in the backpack.
Likes and Dislikes: Likes opening and closing doors and looking inside cabinets, music, and playing outside.
Diet: New foods this week were bananas and yogurt. He had both of these on Saturday for lunch – right before he threw up. I know we broke the 2 new foods at a time rule – and now I don’t know which one (if any) made him sick.
And he can pretty much hold his own bottles and feed himself!
Milestones: He’s been babbling so much – it’s so cute. He says “ma-ma” and “ba-ba.” He’s also getting really good at crawling! He can stand for quiet a while when he’s holding on to a table or the couch.
He also holds on to things for longer periods of time. During our hike he was holding onto and playing with one leaf for 45 minutes. And then on Saturday he wouldn’t let go of a toothbrush and a medicine dropper.
