Weight: 19 lbs 4 oz.
Clothes: He’s too big for his 9 month pajamas now so we moved him up to the 12 month pajamas. Mostly he’s wearing 12 month shirts with a few 18 month things (that are still a little loose on him).
Health: Healthy little man! He’s doing great taking his iron drops – but they are causing him to be super constipated (poor guy). We have a doctor’s appointment on Friday to check his iron levels so hopefully everything is good and we don’t have to take any additional tests! We haven’t had to use his saline drops in quite a while.
Sleep: He’s still getting up 2 times in the middle of the night, but he’s been sleeping later and later in the mornings. Instead of waking up at 5:30-6, he’s been waking up between 6:30-7:00. The little extra sleep is nice – but I think I would rather him not wake up in the middle of the night! He is usually napping 2 times a day (although I think he’s starting to transition himself to one really long nap during the day). Sometimes he’ll go down for his naps without complaint, other times he fights it and doesn’t want to sleep at all.
Crying: One day this weekend he woke up from a nap so cranky that nothing would make him feel better. But other than that – he’s a happy little guy!
Social and Activity: Cooper loves little kids. He is always so excited to interact with the other kids at his day care as well as all the kids that live on our street. He is so friendly and is always will reach out to other kids when he sees them. He wasn’t this way before he started day care – so I think that being there with the other kids has really helped him to start learning to socialize and play with other kids.
Likes and Dislikes: Loves bubbles, chewing on keys, playing chase, silly noises, and pulling flowers off of bushes (I would like to think that he’s picking them for me since he loves me so much – but I think he just wants to try to eat them). He still hates getting in his car seat – but he’s been much better about being in the car seat once he’s actually in it.
Diet: There were a few days last week that Cooper wasn’t really wanting to drink his bottles, but I think that has passed. Some days he loves his food and eats 3 full meals – other days he isn’t really into it and doesn’t eat much at one of his meals. He loves drinking out of our cups whenever we offer him some water.
In news about my diet, I have been slowly adding dairy back into my diet and so far he doesn’t seem to have any reaction to it. So I think all of the GI issues may have passed!
Milestones: He’s working so hard on the crawling. He’s able to move around, but still doesn’t do a true crawling movement. He’s been doing a lot of “cruising” or walking along furniture. He’s been very talkative this week too and will say “ma-ma.” No “da-da” yet though. I’m sure he doesn’t connect me with the words yet so I don’t think the “ma-ma” is any indication of who his favorite parent is.
He still just has the one tooth – but it’s come out quite a bit since last week.
Look at my tooth!!!!
Weekly Random Moments: This week we started baby-proofing the house. We bought a bunch of outlet covers and cabinet locks and even a baby gate. We haven’t installed it yet and are waiting for him to get more mobile – but we wanted to have it all on hand.
