Look who is 8 months old!!! I can’t believe it.
Weight: 19 lb 0 oz
Clothes: I think the 12 month clothes fit him the best. He still fits in the 9 month but it’s tight. He’s wearing some 18 and 24 month stuff.
Health: Healthy little guy this week. Nothing to report.
Sleep: He’s pretty consistent at night – still wakes up around midnight and 3am to eat. I’ve tried not getting up with him, and he just screams and gets himself so worked up that he can’t go back to sleep. On Saturday night he had a rough night too – couldn’t sleep from 1am-3am. Which means that we didn’t sleep either. Fun times.
As far as his daily naps – most of the time he does really well and goes down without a problem. He still pretty much does 2 naps per day (morning and afternoon).
Crying: He had a few fussy days this weekend – but I think it’s because his naps and night sleeping were a little out of whack for some reason.
Social and Activity: Busy week for us! On Thursday we met up with my friend and her little girl for lunch. Cooper was the perfect gentlemen through lunch – did a great job eating and we so well-behaved! On Friday, Cooper got his second haircut and now he looks even more handsome! Then we all went out to dinner where he did great eating but wasn’t as patient when Kirk and I were eating. Poor guy was just tired since it was getting close to his bed time.
On Saturday we met up with some other friends and their boys for lunch (lots of eating out for us this week!) and then we went to watch the boy’s football game. Cooper had a great time – but I think we kept him out a little past his nap time, so when we got home he was overtired but didn’t want to go to sleep.
On Sunday we spent some babcia and dziadek since they are back from their vacation!
Likes and Dislikes: Likes looking under things (like rugs). He likes going on walks and playing in the park.
He’s getting better at being in his car seat. I don’t think he likes it, but at least he doesn’t complain the whole time he’s in it anymore.
He does still enjoy his baths, but he won’t get out of his chair. Anytime I try to take him out to test the waters, he gets scared and wants to be put back in his chair.
Diet: This week we added in raspberries and he loved them!! The ones that I had weren’t even that sweet – but he seemed to enjoy the tartness. Some days he does great eating and can’t seem to get enough, and other times he seems to only want a bite or two. His favorite foods are still cauliflower and beets (like a good Polish baby) and of course all sorts of fruits (peaches, mangoes, and now raspberries). He usually really likes avocados as well – Friday night at dinner he ate all the avocado off of Kirk’s hamburger.
He’s getting really great at feeding himself small pieces of whatever – but still prefers if you feed him. If you look close – you can see his one little tooth popping out!
Baby Gear Love: All the new toys that I picked up at last week’s garage sale for cheap! Cooper especially loves the wooden puzzles.
Milestones: Still no crawling – and it’s so frustrating for him! I know he just wants to move.
He can go from a sitting up position to his stomach. He is also starting to clap and will sometimes lift his hand to kind of wave bye-bye. But Cooper being the little independent man he is will only do them when he wants to – he will never do anything on cue.
And then randomly this week, Cooper sat up by himself in his crib. I laid him down for his morning nap, and he just played by himself for a little while as usual. The next thing I know, I look on the monitor and he’s sitting up by himself. It hasn’t happened since, so I’m not exactly sure how he did it but I suspect he used the crib rails or the bumper to pull himself up.
Weekly Random Moments: So much rain!! I have never seen so much rain – and our area didn’t anywhere close to the amount of rain that other parts of the state got. All the rain meant that we had to spend way too much time indoors this week and missed lots of our typical walks. And unfortunately our dining room window started to leak – so now Kirk is busy trying to figure out where the leak is coming from so we can fix it.
At least the Cooper liked watching the rain!
