Cooper knocked out after a Sunday afternoon shopping excursion. He didn’t even wake up when we took him out of his car seat.
Weight: 17 lb 12 oz.
Clothes: Mostly 9 or 12 month old onesies and 6-12 month old pants/shorts
Health: He’s doing great this week. Not much to report!
Sleep: This has actually been going great this week too – or maybe I just am not as worried about it since my pediatrician said it was normal for him to get up once a night. He has only been waking up once a night to eat (most nights) and then goes right back to sleep.
He goes down very easily for the night, but he still has trouble with naps. We are still working on making nap time easier.
He loves sleeping on his stomach and flips over almost as soon as I put him down to sleep.
Crying: Mostly just when it’s hungry, tired, or bored.
Social and Activity: Last night Cooper had a mini play date with our neighbor. It is so fun that e will have another kid his same age in our street to grow up with. He wasn’t into playing with her yet – or maybe he was just playing hard to get.
Likes and Dislikes: Likes playing chase and peek-a-boo, riding in his new push car, holding his own cups, and being outside.
Here he is taking his vitamins by himself.
Dislikes getting in and out of the torture device, also known as the car seat.
Diet: This week we added in blueberries (these do not digest at all), whole grain oatmeal (to get in some extra iron), and apricots. He really is liking his oatmeal and did great with the apricots. I also got him a some puffs to practice picking up and eating. I’m not crazy about these in general because I don’t think they are all that healthy, but they are good for practicing hand-eye coordination. Since the puffs dissolve easier than Cheerios, I thought I would start with those. I’ll move to Cheerios once he gets the hang them.
Baby Gear Love: I picked up this car for Cooper on Craigslist (for $15 – yay me!) and he LOVES it. We have been taking walks around the neighborhood in it and he is always smiling and looking around at everything.
He’s already perfected his cool driving pose – one hand on the wheel.
Milestones: He is trying so hard to crawl! He can move backwards quite a ways – and is starting to rock back and forth when he’s up on all fours. Every once in a while he can move forward a little bit – but he has yet to make and big forward movements. I am guessing it will be soon though!
Weekly Random Moments: We had Cooper’s 6 month pictures on Sunday morning. It started to rain halfway through out photo shoot – so hopefully our photographer was still able to get some great shots!
And Cooper starts day care on Monday! He’ll be going two days a week, and then he will be with babcia and dziadek the other 3 days a week. I am scared and excited for him to go. I’m excited because I think the interaction with other kids and babies will be good for him – but I’m scared that he won’t like it. Not that he won’t like the actual lady (because she is really sweet and he really liked her when we he met her), but that he won’t like the craziness of a day care.
