One of the great things about traveling with family is the babysitting! Babcia and dziadek babysat Cooper one day so Kirk and I could get away for a little while. We traveled just down the road to Laniakea Beach and Waimea Valley.
Laniakea Beach is known for its sea turtles, but unfortunately there were none there the day we visited. It was still a beautiful beach.
After the beach, we headed to Waimea Valley. The valley includes some historical sites, a botanical garden, and a small waterfall at the end. The “hike” up to the waterfall is pretty short (about 0.75 miles each way) and it’s on a paved road, so it’s pretty easy. The gardens are beautiful, but the falls are kind of disappointing.
Whoa! Huge leaves!
The wild Hawaiian roosters
The gardens were beautiful, but the actual falls were a bit disappointing.
