Weight: At his last weight check he was 6 lbs 13 oz – down about 6 oz from birth (which is within the normal range). He’s been eating like a champ so I’m sure he will much heavier next week at his appointment.
Health: Awesome. Passed his hearing test with flying colors. No jaundice. Umbilical cord is starting to fall off. Circumcision scar is healed. Everything is looking good.
Sleep: He gets a couple 3 hour stretches at night – but mostly it’s an hour and a half at a time. He was sleeping in a bassinet next to the couch (which I was sleeping on) for the first few nights home – but we moved him to the crib on Monday night. He’s been sleeping good in his crib, but is a bit fussy after feeding and is sometimes hard to get back down to sleep.
Clothes: newborn and 0-3 months – and most of the stuff is still pretty big on him. Pants just swim on him – so I picked up a few more newborn pants and they seem to fit better.
Social: He has some good awake time after his daytime feedings and loves looking around at things but mostly he just sleeps.
Diet: Just working on breastfeeding and getting in lots of good full feedings. Full feedings = good sleeping time.
Baby Gear Love: The Pack N Play we got is wonderful. We have it set up in the living room. It has a changing table and a bassinet, and a place for diapers and other baby gear on the side. It’s the perfect little station away from his room. We also love the aden+anais swaddle blankets and will probably end up buying some more.
Milestones: He had his first bath at home. And his first walk around the neighborhood in his stroller. We also celebrated grandpa’s birthday on Tuesday night. Mom had a glass of wine and it was divine.
