Only 7 more weeks (plus or minus) to go! I can’t believe how quickly time has flown by. I’m still feeling fantastic – I think I’m having the easiest pregnancy ever. I have tons of energy which I’m attributing to maintaining an active lifestyle. We both have been feeling Baby T move around a lot – he is most active around 7 in the morning and 9 at night. He doesn’t wake me up at night (yet) and isn’t causing me to go to the bathroom every 5 minutes. So far he’s an easy baby and hopefully it will continue after he comes out! I do have a hard time putting on socks, but that’s such a minor complaint.
I got 4 huge bins of hand-me-down boy’s clothes from my dear friend Melissa, so I spent this weekend organizing and washing everything. This little baby has quite the wardrobe already! With how quickly babies get clothes dirty and outgrow them, it’s so nice to not have to buy everything.
We also celebrated Thanksgiving this week with a lot of yummy food and a nice long 4 day weekend. This year I was in charge of the cranberry sauce. I used a new recipe that included oranges and apples, and it turned out fantastic – perfectly tart and full of flavor! I also made stuffing for us to eat at home.
We recently got a new roof (thanks to our insurance company and the hail storm we had this summer). We opted not to replace the copper part of the roof, but it was still looking a little worn. So, Kirk spent the weekend polishing our copper roof. In the almost 8 years we have been in our house, the roof was pretty tarnished and just didn’t look as nice as when we bought it. So he did some research on the internet and found that a paste made out of vinegar, salt, and flour will help take the tarnish off. 3 times applying the paste and washing it off – and this is the result. Shiny and almost brand new looking!
We also found a snake in our garage. I almost stepped on it when I get out of the car. EWWW! Even though it wasn’t a huge snake, I still am not a fan. We chased it out of the garage, and then got rid of it.
And I leave you with a gorgeous sunset we had on Saturday night. The sky was on fire and it was beautiful.
