This week, I had to travel to Portland for work. I had never been, so it’s always fun to explore a little bit of a new city. The sun was out pretty much the whole time I was there – it was fantastic. I have to go back again this week, and unfortunately it’s going to be rainy all week. I like thunderstorms that come in quick and leave just as quickly, but I hate non-stop gloomy rain that stretches on for days. And that’s what it’s supposed to be like.
I didn’t take my DSLR, so all of the photos were snapped with my iPhone. I am continually amazed at the quality of photos that a phone can take! Obviously there are still so many more things that a DSLR can do – but the convenience of snapping a photo with your phone is unbeatable.
The cool art exhibit at DIA terminal.
Flying over the Cascades – Mount St. Helens, Mount Rainier, and Mount Adams
Justs some of the sites that I saw walking around the city.
Right across from my office is a row of food carts. Apparently food carts are HUGE in Portland – there are something like 500 scattered around the city. Each one serves something different – Mexican, Indian, Chinese, Thai, burgers, sandwiches, you name it! I loved picking something new for lunch every day. Unfortunately – or maybe it’s a good thing – I couldn’t find any dessert carts.
My hotel was close enough to my office to walk every day. Just some of the sites on my walk to work.
