After our day of skiing, my dad and I headed to the Ice Castles in Silverthorne. The whole structure is built by hand, using just icicles and water. Each day they “grow” between 3,000-5,000 new icicles, which get attached to the castle nightly using water. The castle opened up in December, and has continued to grow and evolve since then. It is really beautiful to see! We went during the day when the sun was shining, but I bet it would also be really beautiful at night when it’s all lit up.
